The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing technical and specialized work functions associated with the preparation for and response to fire, rescue, and disaster emergency calls for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Protects the life and property of the Tribal Community; supports fire safety, prevention and equipment maintenance activities, and provides assistance to emergency medical personnel. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License and/or Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate level/endorsement(s). Must attain and maintain valid Bureau of Fire Standards and Training (Florida State Fire College) certifications as a Firefighter II, Florida State Certified Paramedic or proof of certification prior to date of hire. Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). May be required to attain and maintain national certifications, such as an additional Firefighter level, Hazardous Materials, and/or other certifications, specific to assigned unit. Must attain valid Broward Fire Chief Association County-Wide Physical Ability Test or equivalent (includes swim test) prior to hire. Three (3) years of current continuous service with a full time Florida Fire Rescue Agency is required. Service time will be reduced by one (1) year with an applicable, job-related Associated or Bachelor Degree.
