Job: Overnight/Emergency Veterinary Technician for Veterinary Clinic

Animal Cancer Care Clinic exclusively serves veterinary cancer patients from five convenient locations in South Florida. The fifth clinic, a full service wellness center, just opened in Ft. Lauderdale that serves as the primary hub for comprehensive care including medical oncology, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, brachytherapy/implant therapy, surgical oncology, clinical trials, nutritional support, acupuncture and pet owner support groups.

We are looking for an overnight/emergency veterinary technician for the veterinarian's after-hours primary medical support at the Fort Lauderdale location. They aid the veterinarians by providing overnight monitoring and nursing care for hospitalized patients, while maintaining the highest standards of nursing care.


Requirements include but not limited to:
* Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
* Treat patients, clients, staff and visitors with courtesy, sensitivity and respect.
* Maintains patient confidentiality.
* Adheres to policies and procedures.
* Follows Safety and OSHA requirements.
* Standing for moderate to long periods of time. Sitting for short periods of time.
* Walking moderate distances frequently.
* Bending, stretching, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and pushing.
* Lifting up to 40 pounds (over 40 pounds with help).
* Restraining small animals up to 200 pounds intermittently.
* Be respectful of clients and show compassion at all times.
* Communicate well with clients during visits.
* Good communication skills

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) desirable but not required.
* Minimum two years experience as veterinary technician.
