Dog Daycare and Kennel is currently seeking an Assistant Store Manager.
At our company, we thrive as a team and have a little fun while we’re at it. We are looking for Management Candidates who will oversee all areas of associate and client experience.
Your primary responsibility is to manage, train, coach, supervise, and direct staff to ensure consistent application of company-defined best practices and standards. Ensure maximum sales and profitability, and to provide a stellar customer/guest experience.
Our Management Candidates own the scheduling process, setting up the store team to achieve goals and deliver a balanced experience that consistently represents our best standards. The Team Manager collaborates with the VP of Operations and Team Leaders to achieve sales and financial budgets. All work is done in partnership and under the supervision of the VP of Operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages all activities related to growth of profitability within the store, including process and productivity standards and improvement, expense controls, and maximizing gross margin, sales and profitability
Manages execution of client and guest services based on company policies through effective planning, prioritizing, and communication and follow up.
Ensures that associates are trained to maintain company standards, visual presentation and brand standards to provide the best customer experience
Creates, monitors and implements the scheduling plan to effectively manage workload, support business objectives and maximize productivity
Manages all activities related to staffing and development of the associate population in the store, including hiring, training, and performance management
Creates a positive work environment through coaching, mentoring and ensuring all personnel policies are followed
Accurately assesses individual and team performance, providing the appropriate level of performance feedback
Management of associates to include recruiting, reviewing job applications and interviewing job applicants, checking references, conducting pre-employment background checks, hiring and training
Ensuring the proper healthcare, appearance and maintenance of dog guests
Management and ordering of store merchandise and supplies
Independently make or participate in making decisions regarding store layout and displays, to enhance visual presentation of store and sales
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts
Ability to hire, train, develop, manage and motivate a team through effective management and merchandising techniques as well as quality customer service
Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple management tasks within established timeframes by effectively planning and managing workload, delegating work, and supervising, monitoring and directing subordinate manager and other associates
Ability to move merchandise and animals up to 50 pounds
Demonstrates Customer Experience skills
Excellent communication, presentation, delegation, follow-up and leadership skills
Demonstrates ability to coach, provide feedback, and manage substandard performance
Set a standard of superior level customer service
Demonstrates proficiency in training, sales generation and leadership of functional teams
Demonstrates ability to manage complex and competing priorities
Accurately completing client instructions and guest information, collecting deposits and fees, keeping orderly customer records, and researching customer payments.
Bring positive recognition to the Very Important Paws brand through effective communication, enthusiastic attitude and professionalism
Skills / Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
A high school diploma or its equivalent (GED) is required
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the areas of mathematics, basic accounting relationships, analysis and problem solving skills
Excellence in communications and computer skills are also required
Computer literate (Microsoft office), experienced with a Point of Sale software program as well as a cash register
A working knowledge of general business practices is highly desirable, as are strong organizational skills
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening, overnight and weekend shifts
PRIOR EXPERIENCE :
One or more years of management experience or the equivalent is required;
An aptitude for demonstrating basic sales techniques and the ability to instruct others in their application
In addition to having a professional appearance and demeanor, the applicant must also demonstrate a keen and genuine interest in all kinds of animals
Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle
