Position Summary:

Provides appropriate and efficient evaluations, treatments, and associated speech therapy services, and participates and supports Rehab program development.

Positon Expectations and Responsibilities:
Expected to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Expected to have basic mathematical skills. Expected to learn computer program related to the type of work in the department, including Patient Care Manager, Physician's portal, PHS, Star Navigator. Expected to have knowledge in Microsoft Office. Expected to demonstrate knowledge regarding evaluation and treatment of articulation, language, cognition, memory, voice, fluency, feeding /swallowing, oral motor, social communication and alternative augmentative communication. Expected to perform and interpret clinical bedside swallow evaluations, videoesophagrams (VEG), videostroboscopic evaluations. Expected to demonstrate knowledge regarding the effective use of therapy equipment. Expected to provide timely and appropriate evaluations and treatments in compliance with department policy and standards of practice. Expected to complete appropriate and required documentation in compliance with department policy. Expected to participate in relevant meetings in a contributory manner and is consistent with the pursuit of quality patient care. Expected to assist in all other department functions on a daily basis and completes these tasks within department deadlines. Expected to participate in and support departmental program development. Expected to coordinate and mentor student interns. Expected to write routine reports and correspondence. Expected to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Expected to communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and coworkers in a professional manner.
Minimum Educatin and/or Experience Required:
Master's degree from four-year college or university for Speech-Language Pathology. Licensure/Regulation/Certification: Florida License, BLS from the American Heart Association, Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or equivalency
