The Lynn Cancer Institute (LCI) of Boca Raton Community Hospital (BRCH) is a new 98,000 square foot building, the Harvey and Phyllis Sandler Pavilion, located at 701 N.W. 13th Street, Boca Raton, Florida.

The facility houses Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Medical Oncology; including an infusion suite, Clinical Research, Site Specific Multimodality Clinics, and ancillary support services. The state of the art building which opened in November of 2008 is located one block from the Boca Raton Community Hospital. The Institute is comprised of a 36 bed inpatient oncology unit in the Hospital, as well as Outpatient services in the Sandler Pavilion, and at sites in Delray Beach, FL. The institute is accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons as a Community Comprehensive Center, holding accreditation since 1985. The program ascensions over 2,100 new cancer cases per year and the research program accrues over 300 patients a year to clinical trials.

Job Description:

The Medical Director of the Lynn Cancer Institute (LCI) will function as the primary coordinator of all Cancer Programs, Projects, and Activities within the Hospital and its Oncology outpatient facilities.

Must be an experienced Board certified Surgical, Medical or Radiation Oncologist dedicated to excellent coordinated comprehensive patient care and participation in research trials. Must have extensive understanding of oncology program operations and development strategies.

Responsibilities and Relationships:

The Medical Director will be a member of the senior management team and will be responsible to Board of Directors and to the President of BRCH. He/She will provide medical leadership and administrative competence for the inpatient and outpatient cancer-related services of the Cancer Institute. The incumbent will work in close cooperation with the Executive Director of the Institute to ensure that operations are efficient and effective, appropriately supporting the mission of the institution.
