Our AgencyOasis Compassion Agency, Inc. was incorporated in 1999, but officially began its current mission in 2003 when Sharon Gill, former CEO of the lawfirm of Gill & Associates, P.A. and the Director of the Corporate Asset Recovery Team at the lawfirm of Adorno & Yoss, P.A. located in Delray Beach became its CEO. Oasis began its operations in 300 sq. ft. of space at Palm Beach Baptist Church in Lake Worth,under the guidance of Pastor John Hawkins. In early 2004, Oasis moved its operations to its current location on 10th Ave. in Greenacres, currently occupying 6000 sq. feet. Working together to address the needs of the whole person, from:

ServicesWe offer several ongoing classes at our Career Center each month. Classes include basic Windows and Microsoft Word computer training, ESOL (Ingles Minimo), Budget, Checking and Savings basics as well as other relevant workshops from time to time. Computer Classes: Classes held on Mondays from 6:00 p.m-8:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Participants are given a certificate at the end of each 8 hour training session. At the end of the course, clients are expected to know how to produce their resume and post it on a job site. ESOL (Ingles Minimo): Classes are held on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m-12:00 noon for a 6 week period totaling 12 hours of classroom study. Students are taught conversational English and American norms. They are also taught how to present themselves to a potential or current employer. At the end of the course, participants are expected to conduct a conversation in English and to be able to apply for jobs requiring minimal English skills. Budget/Checking and Savings Basics: We partner with Washington Mutual Bank Lake Worth and Lantana offices, to offer a budget, checking and savings basis two hour workshop each month. Workshops are offered on the last Monday of each month and begins at 6:00 p.m. At the end of each workshops, our clients have a better understanding of balancing their checkbooks, budgeting their funds and saving for emergencies. Job Placement and Mentoring: We collaborate with local employment agencies and local businesses to help place our clients in jobs to get them on the road to self sufficiency. Oasis works with several volunteers with backgrounds in Human Resources and Management. Clients are given resume assistance, computer job search guidance, interviewing role play and a training manual. All clients who are being sent on interviews are given appropriate interview clothing from our Thrift Store as well as additional clothing for their first week on the job.
