The American Society for Quality (ASQ) perceives its role in society as a steward of the quality profession by providing member (customer) value. The long-term role is to be stewards of the quality movement by providing increased society value through ASQ activities. Those activities include educational programs, books, magazines and journals, establishment of industry standards, testing and certification of members, rewards and recognition. Formed on February 16, 1946, ASQ was an offshoot of wartime quality groups. The initial focus of quality in manufacturing has expanded over the years to include quality in healthcare, education, and services. By making quality a global priority, an organizational imperative, and a personal ethic, ASQ becomes the community for everyone who seeks quality technology, concepts, or tools to improve themselves and their world. There are individual sections of ASQ located around the world, including nearly 1,000 in the United States and 10 in the State of Florida. Each section selects its own leadership from within and functions autonomously within the framework of the national organization. Contact Us
