Blog Post: What It's All About....Making A Difference

Recently I had the pleasure of presenting a career workshop at Sheridan Technical Center in Hollywood, FL.  This is something I do very often around Broward County at different schools, but this proved to be an experience that will stick out in my memory forever.  The class was small and all women.  I did my workshop on "Building A Brand Called Me".  About 10 minutes into the workshop I asked each student to say their name and one word that represents their personal brand.  One woman said her name and shared that she was not in a great mood.  I noticed this when I started the presentation and I shared with her that I believe she had already looked happier in the 10 minutes I had been with them and by the end of my workshop I promise she will happy.  When I finished the presentation one student spoke on behalf of the entire class and said:"Thank you Jessica for all that you shared with us, we are very inspired now." While she said this they all smiled and agreed and I saw such a wonderful look of appreciation in all of their eyes that truly touched my heart.  To top it off the lovely woman who wasn't having the best day and had shared that he was in a bad mood gave me a huge smile and a huge hug.  We took pictures, I left them my contact information, and most of all I left knowing that I had efected their lives, for which I was honored to have had the opportunity.
