Blog Post: Happy at work... A reality!

I don't consider myself a recruiter. One of the things I love about what I do is that I get to meet and interact with so many people and so many different businesses. When a client calls me and asks me to fill a position for them, I don't just look for skill set. That's not the big picture. If they're trying to hire someone that will truly FIT into their organization, there is so much more to consider than just what speed a candidate types at. The part of my job that I take most seriously is the need to ensure that there will be a cohesion to the staff. I always take into consideration; Will this person work in a small office or big office? Does the office have a lot of strong personalities? Will my candidate fit in with the current office environment? What is my candidate really looking for?
The second thing I look for to find the 'right' person to fill a position is happiness. I want my candidate to be happy going to work everyday. I travel 80 miles round trip everyday and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Because I LOVE MY JOB. I love waking up each morning and being excited to go to work. The coolest part of my job is that I get to find that for other people. So... I have to wonder with the current employment trends... Is it just about finding any job these days? Or are people able to search for something they truly love to do?
