Blog Post: Economic Downtime for the Small Business Owners
posted Tuesday, February 24, 2009 4:33 PM
During this economic downtime, I ask the following questions:
1) How is the small business owner dealing with these difficult times? 2) What is the small business owner doing to ensure they are in compliance with all of the employment laws? 3) Does the small business owner even know that they may not be in compliance? As I sit here composing this blog, I find myself wondering how the small business owner is dealing with "life" in these difficult times. I know many say they "refuse to participate in this recession". Let's face it, everyone is being affected during these times. I was blessed with the opportunity to start a wholesale company in New York City almost 25 years ago. When I first started out, I knew absolutely nothing and it was by the Grace of God that I found out what I was supposed to do, when I was supposed to do it. Fortunately, I did the right things at the right time. When faced with various audits, I had done the right things and passed with flying colors. Now, 25 years later, I have figured it out. . . . for the most part. I want to share that information with the small business owner who is not aware of what they need to know. . . and doesn't even know how or what to ask. I named my company People First because I want to do just that, put ALL people first; both the employee and the business owner/employer. My question is, how do I do that? How do I get the word out there that I am here to help. Because that's exactly what I want to do. Help those who could utilize our services. I truly believe that it is in giving that we receive. I would love to hear what you think. How can we spread the word that there are people out there who truly care about others and want to make a difference. I welcome comments, suggestions, feedback and input. How can we help others during these difficult economic times?
