Blog Post: Meet Your Next Employer June 19 At The Palm Beach Career Expo

I know many of you are out there each day looking for new employment opportunities and a trying to meet recruiters locally.  Jobing.com is having the biggest and best job fair in Palm Beach County on Thursday, June 19 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center .  I hope you are excited and counting down the days to this event; this is the time to start planning your attendance.

Dress For Success

Something I can't emphasize enough is being dressed professionally for the event.  This is your chance to make a first impression on a future employer, and nothing says you are prepared like being dressed to impress.  This can be as simple as a nice pair of dress pants and a dress shirt (no wrinkles!), all the way to a suit.  Maybe the job you are looking for doesn’t require professional dress but all employers, no matter what the position, are looking for job seekers that look and act professionally. Research

You should always be prepared and ready to meet the 80+ employers that will be attending. Click here to check out this ever growing list. This is the time to learn about the business; review the website, Google recent news and events about the company. Employers are always impressed when you are familiar with their business and explain why you want to work for their great organization.

Resume

The first thing I tell every job seeker is to have someone else or several people review and proofread your resume. At the Career Expo on June 19 we have free resume review for all job seekers. Bring your resume on CD or Flash Drive and you can make the recommended changes after meeting with one of our experts then print as many copies of your resume as you will need.

Day Of Job Fair

Now that you are dressed professionally and looking great with your company research complete and a great resume now what. First thing to do is get a good nights sleep and wake up ready to make a new start and get that great new local job. Arrive early, we open the doors at Noon but our 1st Workshops starts at 11:30.

You also should register for the event by clicking here and bring a copy of the Quick Pass for easy entry. As a reminder the Palm Beach County Convention Center has a $5 parking fee, This is a fee of the facility, and not of Jobing.com. You may also choose to park across the street at City Place ; 1st hour is free with each additional hour at $1 per hour and a $6 daily maximum.
